Update on Friday afternoon: “This is an update from Spartanburg School District Four. On Wednesday October 9th, a third-party vendor collected air quality samples at all schools and buildings throughout the district. The next day, Thursday October 10th, a specialized cleaning company began the process of cleaning using antimicrobial agents at all schools. Woodruff Middle School indicated an elevated spore count in two areas while The Learning Center indicated one area of an elevated spore count related to high levels of humidity and the eight days without power caused by Hurricane Helene. Woodruff Primary School, Woodruff Elementary School, Woodruff High School, and buildings throughout the district had no atypical findings, meaning samples collected reported satisfactory air quality in relation to airborne mold. District Four will be working throughout the weekend with our specialized partners to remediate Woodruff Middle School and The Learning Center so students and staff can return safely. At this time, Woodruff Primary, Woodruff Elementary and Woodruff High School will return to school and resume regular schedule on Monday October 14. An update will be sent Sunday afternoon regarding Woodruff Middle School and The Learning Center. Thank you for your patience and support as we ensure all students and staff can return safely to school.”Update Thursday afternoon: Spartanburg District Four Schools will remain closed Friday, Oct. 11, officials said on Thursday afternoon.”This is an update from Spartanburg School District Four.
