CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools have dedicated resources to address a “potential growth” at Clear Creek Elementary School.
WBTV reached out to the district after a source sent photos showing what appeared to be mold or mildew growing on multiple surfaces within the school, including ceilings, chairs, and shelves.
The source claimed that the issue had been ongoing and that previous attempts to address it had been unsuccessful.
When WBTV reached out to CMS, the district confirmed it was aware of the mold reports and had initiated professional cleaning procedures.
In a statement, CMS representatives said they had “professional cleaning” to inspect and clean up concerning areas. Additionally, the “Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Operation Team” would be placing dehumidifiers and air purifiers in classrooms and areas without windows.
Following their efforts, a CMS representative stated that there were currently “no indicators that conditions are unsafe for students or staff.”
