The announcement explained that after returning to Woodruff High School on Tuesday, staff discovered a substance they believed to potentially be mildew or mold in several areas. Because of this discovery, air quality testing for all schools has been scheduled.

A new Woodruff High School is under construction on Cross Anchor Road.

The new high school will be approximately 250,000 square feet and three stories on a 108-acre campus. A $100 million referendum approved in August 2022 is funding its construction.

Construction started last July, and the project is scheduled to be completed by October 2025

Because of the destruction caused by Hurricane Helene, Spartanburg School District Four Schools remained without power for eight days. After returning to school on Tuesday October 8, Woodruff High School personnel discovered a substance possibly mildew or mold on several desks in a room. Upon discovery, the room was immediately closed

As always, safety is the number one priority for Spartanburg School District Four. Because District Four schools were without power for eight days and out of an abundance of caution, ALL SCHOOLS will be CLOSED on WEDNESDAY, OCT 9, with no expectation of e-learning.

We appreciate your understanding as we work together to ensure the safety of all students and staff.
